Morres H. Jensen
King, WI (formerly of Bear Creek, WI)
Age 88 – died on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the
Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born
on August 31, 1921 in Bear Creek, Richland County,
WI, the son of William and Anna Belle (Young)
Jensen. He married Wilma Albright on August 19,
1946. He later married Jeanette Kiber on June 24,
1989.
Morres is survived by two grandchildren, Bill
(Julie) Jensen of Lone Rock, WI, and Sarah
Horstmann of LaValle, WI, three great
grandchildren, Tristan, Katelyn, and Jordan, and a
sister, Margie Vetter of DeForest, WI. He is
further survived by many nieces, nephews, and
other relatives. Morres was preceded in death by
his son, Gary Jensen, his parents, brothers,
Lawrence, Ervin, Wallace, and Marvin, and sisters,
June Jensen and Martha Arzt.
Morres had served in the U.S. Army Air Force from
July 29, 1942 until August 26, 1945, serving in
Europe during WW II. He attained the rank of
Sergeant. Morres had been employed as a carpenter,
and at times had worked for Frank Lloyd Wright. He
had also done some farming. He had been a Past
Commander of American Legion Post #383 in Lone
Rock, WI. He became a resident of the Wisconsin
Veterans Home on January 4, 1972 and spent the
remainder of his life there. While a resident of
the Veterans Home he worked in the Library until
his eye sight began to fail. He had also been a
member of the Wisconsin Veterans Home Honor Guard
for many years, performing military honors at the
funerals of fellow veterans.
A funeral service will be held at the Main Chapel
of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI on
Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 1:30 PM with Father Paul
Vanden Hogen, officiating. Interment will be in
the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery
at King, WI. A visitation will be held at the Main
Chapel at King on Tuesday from 12:30 – 1:30 PM.
The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting
the family with arrangements.
