Obituary – Jessie Caves
Jessie Caves, 84, a long-time resident of Wild
Rose, died August 26 at Wild Rose Community
She was born December 5, 1921 in Poy Sippi,
Wisconsin to George and Nancy (Hanson) Vergin.
She graduated from Wild Rose High School in 1941.
On September 2, 1944, she married Robert Caves.
Together they operated Ross Caves & Son Trucking
for many years. Robert preceded her in death on
January 11, 1980.
Mrs. Caves was a member of the Wild Rose United
Methodist Church, the Wild Rose Hospital
Auxiliary, the Wild Rose Historical Society, and
the Friends of the Library.
Her survivors include three sons and a daughter:
Donald (Deborah) Caves, Larry (Ruth) Caves, and
James (Julie) Caves, all of Wild Rose, and Vicki
(Guy) Gooding of Sobieski, Wisconsin; seven
grandchildren: Chad (Gina) Caves, Alissa Caves
(fiancé William White), Stephan Caves (fiancé
Shannon Trocio), Andrew (Shawn) Caves, Courtney
Caves, Brandon Caves, and Tyson Caves; and five
great-grandchildren: Meghan, Jacob, Mackenzie,
Elijah, and Hunter. She is also survived by a
sister, Margaret Oliver of Janesville, Wisconsin,
a brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Lillian
Vergin of Poy Sippi, special family member Verla
Jones, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in
death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law,
Edgar and Margaret Vergin; a sister and
brother-in-law, Ada and William Barden; a
brother-in-law, Charles Oliver; a brother-in-law
and sister-in-law, Gordon and Shirley Caves; and a
brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Merna
Friends may call Monday, August 28 from 5:00 to
7:00 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose.
Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, August 29
at the Wild Rose United Methodist Church from
12:00 to 1:00 p.m., preceding the memorial service
to be held there at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at
the Oak Hill Cemetery following the services on
Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
