Ken was my first boss. In the early 80's when I was 13-15 we would work in swamps. Ken would cut down tamarack trees and cut them into 17 foot lengths. I would then carry them out of the swamps and onto his truck. These trees went south to be used for hanging tobacco. It was hard work, but he paid and treated me well. In fact I think Ken paid me more per hour than my first full-time job after high school. I still have the strong work ethic that he showed me.
