Gina, I want you to know that you, Emily, Mitchell and all of Greg’s family are in my thoughts and prayers. The first time Greg told me about you, I saw the love he had for you in his eyes. Greg was truly in love for the very first time in his life. He told me that he had been going to see you in Wisconsin and you have been going to Gastonia to see him. I am so glad he met you, moved to Wisconsin, and marring you. I what to thank you for helping Greg live a happier life. Greg loved all of you. I am so sorry to hear of Doc's passing. I've known him since 1980, and it was a joy to have him as a friend. He was one of a kind, friendliest person you could ever meet, and he made you feel like you had known him forever. I loved to listen to him play the drums when he played in a country band during the 80's. He lived life to the FULLEST and was GREAT to be around. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. I hate I don't know you (Greg's family) because I know ya'll made him so happy. I knew him most of my life until he moved up there but saw him maybe 2 years ago when he was back here at the Ranch House for a party with old friends. I never knew a finer person. One story, my son just turned 18 the other day and he has never forgot who Greg was because he gave him so many of those fed ex airplanes when he was growing up! Hope you can heal and be in peace, it will be hard, but the Lord has a purpose for all of us.

Gina and family: The world has lost a great soul and humanitarian. I had the privilege of meeting Doc when he was photographing the destruction of the old Simmons building in New London (I live directly across from it). I spend most of my time outside doing landscaping when the weather permits and Doc introduced himself to me one day. He was a true treasure--a type of person that few people ever get the opportunity to get acquainted with. We talked numerous times over the months he was photographing and I heard your names mentioned so often. I specifically recall helping him stuff an old piece of furniture that he had found at Simmons into the back of his truck. It looked like an old psychiatrists couch (I think it was a funky red in color) and I recall him saying something to the effect that he might have to

There is hardly a time in life when you can tell one person everything - everything...and not be judged - right or wrong. Doc was this one person for me. I am so much more for having had his love and friendship...yet so much less for wanting him back from the heavens to hear his laughter, or to hear him made fun of me, or to hear him talk about his wonderful wife and family. I knew Greg growing up at First Baptist Church in Lowell, NC. We were in SS & the Youth together. I loved him as a brother. Gina, you know it, he was crazy abt you. I saw him right before he left to move to WI, & he was happy! Thats all tht mattered!
