Olivia E. Lutz

August 12, 1939 - February 19, 2022

Olivia E. Lutz, age 82, of Amherst, WI, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, February 19, 2022. She was born August 12, 1939 in Langdon, ND; daughter of Reverend Alfred and Florence (Garbisch) Wolkenhauer. On May 16, 1959, Olivia married Richard Lutz in Burnett, WI and together they shared almost 53 years of marriage before his passing on March 9, 2012. Olivia was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst where she was the organist and choir director for many years. She was an Avon Representative when her children were young. She then worked at Security State Bank in Amherst Jct. and served as secretary/treasurer for the local A.A.L. branch of insurance. Olivia enjoyed going for walks, taking care of her flower beds, doing diamond paintings and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed watching movies on the Hallmark channel and game shows. In their retirement years, she and Richard loved to travel. Olivia loved spending time with her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. She will be dearly missed by all of her loving family and friends. Olivia is survived by her three children Karen (Wally) Shulfer of Amherst, Rhonda (Darin) Hurt of Chippewa Falls, and Wayne (Becky) Lutz of Amherst Jct.; nine grandchildren Jed (Amanda) Shulfer, Josh (Rose) Shulfer, Chelsea (Brandon) Fay, Jacob (Jamise Wright) Hurt, Allison Hurt, Jessica Hurt, James (Katie) Stokes, Jeffrey (Kelsey) Lutz, and Jordan (Kate) Lutz; eighteen great-grandchildren with another one on the way Alex, Gabe, Lily, Addy, Ellie, Anakin, Rivalee, Jasper, Joren, Ronan, Evaline, Jensen, Tavi, Arie, Moiraine, Jaycee, Nolan, and Lucy; a sister Doris Stabenow of Stoughton; a sister-in-law Margery Stone of Oregon; two brothers-in-law Alvin (Shirley) Lutz of Amherst and Gary (Marjorie) Lutz of Amherst Jct.; and also by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Reverend Alfred and Florence Wolkenhauer; her parents-in-law Leo and Florence Lutz; her husband Richard Lutz; a sister and brother-in-law Marion (Ken) Deibert; two brothers-in-law Bill Stabenow and Paul Stone; and two nephews Daryl Deibert and Norman Lutz. A Funeral Service for Olivia will be on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home, 262 S. Main Street, Amherst, WI 54406. Reverend Chris Schwanz, officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, February 24th, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst and again on Friday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bickel Cemetery in Amherst following the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Olivia’s name at a later date. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
