Philip E. Vaughn Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Philip “Tulip” “Flop” Vaughn, age 86, of Waupaca, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born on June 7, 1936 in Amherst, WI, son of James and Pearl (Halverson) Vaughn and his 2nd wife, Bernice Halverson. Philip was an independent truck driver until his retirement. He then operated a dump truck and backhoe for many years. Philip enjoyed hill climbing, riding his Harley, mornings at the Rose Garden, going to auctions, feeding his birds and going to McDonalds with his coffee clutch group. Philip is survived by his children, Jacci (Doug) Thelen of Eaton Rapids, MI, Ken (Terri) Vaughn, Terri Ricker, and Richard (Shelley) Vaughn all of Waupaca; eight grandchildren, Joseph Bruske, Johnathan Vaughn, Jaden Vaughn, Michael (Jennifer Conley) Ricker, Stephen Ricker, Stephanie Ricker, Taylor Vaughn and Justin Vaughn; seven great grandchildren, Emberlee, Braydon, Rylan, Jaxson, Abel, Avaya and Collin; one brother, William (Sandy) Vaughn of Waupaca; two sisters, Sandra (Dave) Anderson of Amherst Junction, WI and Chris (Mike) Budge of WI; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and mother of his children, Trudy, he was preceded in death by his infant children James and Cindy Vaughn. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI where full military honors will be performed. Friends may call on Saturday, July 23rd from 11:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at WI Veterans Home in King, WI and Heartland Hospice for their exceptional care that they gave Philip during his stay.
