Richard W. Jenks

June 28, 1931 - September 4, 2021

Richard W. Jenks, age 90, formerly of Saxeville, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Park Vista The Legacy in Waupaca. He was born on June 28, 1931, son of Ray and Ethel (Prothroe) Jenks. On October 6, 1951, he married Charlotte Georgeson in Waupaca, she preceded him death on May 20, 1999. Richard then married Frances Erickson on July 12, 2008 in Lakeville, MN. Richard served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was the owner/operator and plumber for Jenks Gas in Wild Rose. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville, Wautoma Masonic Lodge Post #148 for over 66 years, Saxeville-Springwater Fire Department for over 50 years, Wild Rose American Legion Daniel Dopp Post #370, Waushara Country Club and a former member of Waushara County Board. He enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Badger and playing golf. Richard is survived by his wife, Frances Erickson-Jenks of Apple Valley, MN; a daughter, Linda (David) Grenier of Wautoma, WI; three sons, Roger (Jean) Jenks of Wautoma, WI, Dale (Cindy) Jenks of Myrtle Beach, SC and Dennis Jenks of Black River Falls, WI; grandchildren, Brittney & Brian Jenks, Rick Lentz (Whitney Erwin), Lori (Shayne) Lentz-Widner, Andrew (Angela) Jenks, Megan Grenier (Kyle Crooks); great grandchildren, Peyton and Preston Widner, William and Lillian Lentz, Maddison Jenks, Jaxon Koch and Braelynn Crooks; sister-in-law, Phyllis Jenks of Wild Rose, WI; step children, David Erickson, Dennis Erickson, Patty Erickson-Gentz and many extended family members. Besides his parents and first wife, Charlotte, he is preceded in death by his brother, James (Margaret) Jenks and twin brother, Ronald Jenks and granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Grenier and step-son, Dean Erickson. Funeral services will on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Noon at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville, WI with Reverend Rick Engen officiating. Burial will be in the Saxeville Union Cemetery in the Town of Saxeville with full military Honors. Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Masonic service at 11:30 a.m. all at the church. St. John’s Lutheran Church wants to remind the public that wearing of masks and physical distancing shall be observed. We sincerely encourage each person to make your decision whether to attend a visitation and/or service based on the best interest of your health and that of your community.
