Barbara Ann Allar

Barbara Ann Allar was born on June 10, 1952 in New London, Wisconsin to Ralph Eugene Allar Junior and Elaine Joyce Allar. She graduated from Waupaca High School in 1970. Barb’s resume was short. She worked in the Waupaca County Clerk of Courts office as part of a high school work program and when she graduated, she was offered a permanent position there. She remained there until she retired- becoming dear friends with fellow workers, judges, attorneys and law enforcement officials. She’s survived by her sister and brother in law Lisa and Rodney Minton and her brother and sister in law, Gene and Rebecca Allar. Nephews Derrick Minton (Amanda Clark); Dylan (Tory) Minton and their children Ava, Chase, and Lacey; Devin Minton (Brooklyn Johanknecht ) Aunt Betty Allar Shirley and Duane Allar Cousin’s -Robert and David Peterson; Kim Geise, Kevin (Barb) Schmidt And numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Elaine Allar, Grandparents Walter and Theresa Schmidt; Ralph and Irene Allar; her aunt and uncle Robert and Joyce Schmidt; Aunt Loretta Peterson; Aunt and Uncle Al and Kathy Allar; Cousin - Kirk Schmidt; close friend Marlene Swearingen- and numerous friends and relatives she held so close to her heart. Barb was one of the kindest and purest hearts you could meet. She never met anyone she did not treat like a friend or share a story with. Barb was a dedicated granddaughter, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, and caretaker. But Barb was so much more than this- Barb was pure love. Barb took care of everyone she loved. She made life easier. When her grandmother Theresa grew old, Barb cared for her and once she had to go in the nursing home, Barb was there sitting with her every single night after work making sure she was not alone and that she had what she needed. When her grandfather Walter needed care Barb was there and she spent her nights visiting and caring for him when he was in Bethany. When her father Ralph’s Parkinson’s advanced, Barb was there with him to help and care for him until the day he died. As her mother Elaine grew old, Barb was by her side - but they were more than mother and daughter, they were best friends. They weathered many storms together. They spent every day together. There was rarely a week when they weren’t out and about together, exploring, rummaging, gardening, shopping, visiting, and delivering fresh fruit and vegetables to those they loved. She was a constant friend to her sister Lisa. When her mom passed away, Barb could have retreated into herself, but instead she expanded her world and embraced everyone in her circle even closer. She became the wonderful and quirky Barb that she was meant to be. She shared breakfasts with her close friend Nancy Thoe— Had endless coffee chats with her friend Jessica Anderson— Shared visits and meals with her Marlene Swearingen who she lovingly called her second mother. Her entire world was her family. She was so proud of Derrick, Dylan, and Devin. She glowed when shared stories of their lives and their accomplishments. She relished every moment with Ava, Chase, and Lacey and glowed when we held them in her arms. They were her heart. We were so fortunate this year to share a new niece, a housewarming, a wedding- and most importantly, time with her. She brought sunshine into everyone’s day. Her loss is devastating. A ball of energy, she ran circles around everyone. She laughed and explored and tried new things- she was everywhere! She loved with her whole heart. She was truly a loving caretaker for everyone in her life! She loved everyone with her whole big wonderful heart. You could not know a kinder soul in this world. If you needed help Barb was there. If you needed a babysitter or a pet sitter Barb was there - hands and pockets full of treats. Kids loved her, animals loved her- her friends and family adored her. She put everyone she loved ahead of herself. Barb loved completely and without reservation. She was there to dry tears, bandage wounds, and mend hearts. She had the kindest smile, a glint in her eye, and a mischievous laugh. Everyone’s life was better with her in it - and without her, our lives will be less bright. Without Barb there will be an empty space in our hearts that no one else can ever fill and the silence created by her absence is deafening. There was never a good time to lose her but her passing happened way too soon- there were so many more days to share. She had so much more love to give and to receive. We lost the world the day she left us. We will miss her every birthday, every holiday, every game, every life event— Every. Single. Day! We love you Barb- we miss you and we are so glad you are surrounded by those you love in heaven but boy do we wish we still had you here. Heaven truly gained an angel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 16, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Ben Kempfert will officiate, with burial to follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega, WI. A visitation will be held on Monday September 15, 2025 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11a.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI.
