Adeline Toftum's Obituary
Adeline A. Toftum, age 81, of Amherst, WI, passed away Saturday, September 24th, 2005 at her residence. She was born in the Town of Cassel, Marathon County, Wisconsin on August 20, 1924, the daughter of Louis and Caroline (Werner) Salzmann. She married Otis Hartmann Toftum on September 21, 1943 in Milladore, WI. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1987. She is survived by her Children: Richard (Verna) Toftum, Amherst, WI; John (Jean) Toftum, New London, WI; Caroline Mitzi (Thomas) Ehr, Amherst, WI; Terrence (Catherine) Toftum, Amherst, WI; Son-in-law: Steven Gehrke, Sun Prairie, WI; Grandchildren: Sarah (Aaron) Kramer, Michael Toftum, Tammy (Shawn) Haydon, Jason (Sarah) Toftum, Tiffany (Scott) Stenberg, Kathryn (Steve) Mosley, David Ehr, Daniel Ehr, Karen Ehr, Rebecca Gehrke, Victoria Gehrke, Cynthia Gehrke, Richard (Jennifer) Gehrke, Aimie Engebretson and Rory Engebretson; Six Great Grandchildren; Sisters: Dorothy Rader, Marshfield, WI; Lillian Jenkins, North Hollywood, CA; Betty (Harold) Richardson, Milladore, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otis; a daughter, Laura Debbie Gehrke; four sisters, Della Magee, Viola Dobbs, Bertha Milow and Alice Stein and three brothers, Melvin, Herbert and Robert Salzman. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 29th, 2005 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Robert Pedretti officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst and on Thursday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Adeline's name.
