Agnes Rosin's Obituary
Agnes M. Rosin, age 95, of Amherst, WI., passed away on Monday, May 4th, 2009 at her daughter's residence in the Town of Lanark, Portage Co., WI. She was born in Town of Farmington, Waupaca Co., WI., on May 13, 1913, a daughter of the late Oliver and Mae (Pipe) Anderson. Agnes married Gilbert Rosin on August 3, 1933 in Waukegan, IL. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1982. Agnes graduated from Amherst High School and attended Wisconsin State Normal School in Stevens Point. She began her teaching career in a one-room school in Bancroft but spent most of her 31 years teaching with the Tomorrow River Schools. Agnes organized the Rustic Road that went past the family farm. Agnes was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amherst. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Ida Mae (Bill) Frizzell, Amherst, WI; Audrey Bockenhauer, Huntley, IL; 5 Grandchildren: Wendy (Tom) Bork; Tracy (Becky) Bockenhauer; Heidi (Scott) Heifetz; Amy Wicks; Nicole Heiman; 5 Great Grandchildren: Ryan Sullivan; Daniel Bockenhauer; Cory Bockenhauer; Gabrielle Heiman and Bryce Heiman. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gilbert Rosin, two brothers, Floyd (Jack) and William Anderson, and three sisters, Genevieve Neusen, Helen Mittelstaedt and Margie Biever. Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amherst at 11 AM on Saturday, May 9th, 2009, with Reverend John Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in the Lower Amherst Cemetery, Town Amherst, Portage Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 - 8 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst and on Saturday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Ministry Home Care Hospice.
