Albert "Bud" Ryczek's Obituary
Albert S. “Bud” Ryczek passed away October 8, 2021 comfortably in his bed. He was born on November 20, 1935 in Chicago, IL, the eldest of Albert and Lillian (Stec) Ryczek. He proudly served in the US Army from July 1958 to June 1960 and often talked of his time in Paris and encouraged all to go and see it at least once in your life.
Bud married Carol Peterson in June 8, 1985 and instantly became a dad to an eleven-year-old Ryan.
Bud was a handy man of all handy mans. His ability to tweak the simple things was something to admire. He owned his own printing business in Chicago, IL for many years until he decided the traffic was too bad and moved his family to the Amherst area. He worked at OK Hardware for many years as well as Jerry’s Small Engines and finished his career driving parts for Carquest.
Bud had a quirky sense of humor that especially came out the last few years while living at North Crest Assisted Living in Stevens Point. Bud’s family will be forever grateful to the staff at North Crest Assisted Living for taking such good care of Bud and putting up his silliness. You have become our family.
Bud is survived by his son, Ryan (Marcy) Peterson of Amherst; brother, Robert (Diane) Peterson of Carmel, IN; sister-in-law, Sandy (Con) Deering of Vernon Hills, IL; step sister-in-law, Tammy (Sam) Cavarretta of Carbondale, IL; and a few nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol in 2018; his parents; step-father, Leonard Peterson; mother and father-in-law, Phillip and Shirley Gormley; brothers, Larry and Tom Peterson; and sister Bernadine (Jim) O’Kray.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of New Hope, WI with Father Jerzy Rebacz officiating followed by full military honors.
Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst assisted the family with arrangements.
