Alfons Ostrowski's Obituary
Alfons J. Ostrowski, age 86, of Amherst Jct., passed away on Thursday, May 26th, 2005 at his residence. He was born in the Town of Amherst, Portage Co., on April 1, 1919, a son of the late Joseph and Pearl (Platta) Ostrowski. He married Johanna R. Powalish on September 23, 1944 in Stevens Point. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2001. Alfons was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church - Fancher. He had worked for the Portage Co. Highway Deptartment. Survivors include: 3 Sons: James (Cecilia) Ostrowski, Amherst Jct.; Maynard (Virginia) Ostrowski, Amherst Jct.; Daniel (Sandra) Ostrowski, Amherst Jct.; Grandchildren: Todd (Amy) Ostrowski and their children - Angela, Adam, Daniel, Rachel and Rebecca; Julie (Patrick) Jansen and their children - Joshua, Jade and Jorga; Jennifer (Don) Lehman; Chad (Jennifer) Ostrowski and their children - Devin and Noah; Tracey (Marc) Staller and their children - Mackenzie and Marcus; Robin (Troy) Werachowski and their child - Dylan; a Sister: Alice Landowski; 2 sisters-in-law - Christine Ostrowski and Delores Ostrowski. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife - Johanna, 4 brothers and 6 sisters. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church - Fancher at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 31st, with Father Robert Pedretti officiating. Burial will be held at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 until 8 PM at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, with a Rosary Service to be held at 7:30 PM. Visitation also on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
