Alfred E. Funk's Obituary
Mr. Alfred E. Funk, Waupaca, passed away Saturday, February 4th, 2006, at Bethany Home in Waupaca. Alfred was born in Waupaca, Wisconsin, on September 11, 1921, he was the son of the late Leroy and Lillian (Nohr) Funk. On Nov 12, 1960, he married Esther V. Barden at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Alfred worked for the Waupaca Foundry for 40 years. He retired June 28, 1986. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Alfred enjoyed watching television along with traveling and spending time with his family. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 1037 in Waupaca. Alfred is survived by his Step Family; Daughters: Ardene (Gaylord) Hansen, Waupaca, Wisconsin; Connie (Steve) Manske, Portland, Oregon. Grandchildren: Candy Hansen; Tami Walkush; Roger (Lisa) Hansen; Mary (Dave) Meyers; Ron (Carrie) Nielson; Stephanie (Brad) Kiefer; Melissa O'Brien; Daniel (Sue) Nielson Jr.; Great-Grandchildren: Marissa, Tate, and Taran Walkush; Trish and Kimmy Meyers; Jenny (Nicholas) Fenz, Emily and Isabella Nielson; Myles and Logan and Nathan Kiefer; Brooke Hansen; Daniel Nielson III and Great-Great-Granddaughter: Rose Fenz; Daughters-in-law: Rose Nielson, Virginia Beach, VA; Linda Nielson, Rolfe, Iowa. He is also survived by Two Sisters: Velora Volkenant; South Carolina and Dorothy Smith; Stevens Point, Two Sisters-in-law: Ruth Barden; Boyce, LA and Jean Barden; St. Francis, WI along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Esther (Barden) Funk, Step Sons: Gordon, Roger and Daniel; Step Grandson: Rocky Nielson; One Brother and Two Sisters. Funeral Service will be held at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 11 AM on Thursday, February 9th, with Reverend Sean Motley officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:30-11 A.M. at the funeral home.
