ALFRED J. ENGLE
WAUPACA, WI Age 51 – went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, August 4, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 23, 1954 in Blue Island, IL, a son of the late Vernon and Elizabeth (Krebs) Engle, Sr. He married Charlene Buck on June 22, 1977 in Waupaca, WI. She preceded him in death on January 15, 1985. He married Karen Schroeder in 1991. Al was a loving father, wonderful brother, and was loved by all. His heart was to live one day at a time and he did that until the very end. What a gift it was that he got to meet his new grandson, and spend his last two hours with this tiny gift from heaven, while surrounded by his loving family. Al is survived by three sons: Daniel (Mary) Engle of Peachtree City, GA, Donald (Emily) Engle of Appleton, WI, and Brandon Engle of Scandinavia, WI, a grandson: Julian Joseph Engle, two step-grandchildren: Manny and Angel Aguilar, two sisters: Violet (Rev. Gary) Strike of Waupaca, WI, and Carol (Steve) Buck of Waupaca, WI, three brothers: Vernon (Peg) Engle, Jr. of Stevens Point, WI, Richard (Francine) Engle of Menasha, WI, and David (Pamela) Engle of Waupaca, WI. He is also survived by his in-laws: Richard and Jane Buck of Waupaca, WI. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Charlene, his parents, a sister: Sue Ann Haase, and a brother: Robert Engle. Al had served in the U.S. Army, and was very proud of the time he served. He had served as a prison guard while in the Army, and had to retire from the service as a result of a disability. While living in the Waupaca area, he had attended the Faith Community Church. A funeral service will be held at the Faith Community Church in Waupaca, WI on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Gary Strike, officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, and at the church on Wednesday morning, one hour prior to the time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated for Al’s sons in memory of their father. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
