Alice Simpson Chaney
Plover, WI (Formerly of Amherst, WI) Age 89 – passed over Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Whispering Pines Assisted Living Facility in Plover. Home economics major, expert seamstress, advocate for all creatures and organic farming, interest in political and social issues. Alice was born on January 16, 1919 in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of the late Clarence and Alice K. Simpson. She married Morris M. Chaney, Jr. on August 15, 1942 in Cleveland, OH. He preceded her in death in March of 1979. Alice is survived by her children; Merlyn P. Chaney of Amherst, Morris M. Chaney, III of Ravenna, OH, and Alice L. Chaney of Madison, grandchildren; Orion C. Giering and Rosemary Alice Tschantz, and a sister; Mary Ruth Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and siblings; Katherine, Bruce, and Robert Simpson. Private burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst, WI. The Jungers -Holly Funeral Home of Amherst, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
