We met Alvera through a mutual friend, Alice Larson, at one of the first Community Chorus rehearsals in the late sixties. She was also a friend to our apartment neighbor, Mildred Schultz. We were clients of her employer, Richard Johnson, so had many good chats over the years. We got to know each other better through chats on the Post Office steps, as we always seemed to get our mail at the same time even though the pick up time changed every day! We were close to her friend Mildred so met many times over the years & always shared a table & meal together after the Spring Concert. We also shared care of Mildred’s grave over the years. When we ‘retired’ & moved South, we kept up frequent correspondence & always visited on trips to Waupaca, had lunch or dinner & caught up with local news. We shared being Packer & Badger fans. We loved Alvera’s attention to detail, her wonderful decorations for each Holiday & her joy of life. Heaven has gained another angel & we are left feeling there is a little less light on earth. We are so thankful to have shared some of Alvera’s life path, her smiles & joy, &, of course, a few of her precious four leaf clovers. Love & fond memories of our times together, Melodi & Doc
