Anita C. Bowker's Obituary
Anita C. Bowker, age 99, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Crystal River Nursing & Rehab. Center. Anita was born in Milwaukee on May 16, 1914, the daughter of the late Daniel P. and Martha (Engel) Mullens. On October 24, 1936, Anita married Garth Bowker in Portage, WI and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2007. She worked for many years at Bartel's Market and was a past member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Almond and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. She loved camping, playing cards, shuffleboard, reading and especially going south for the winter.
Anita is survived by her children: Judith (Gaylord Nowak) Lick, Waupaca; Ronald (Mary) Bowker, Granbury, TX; her 5 grandchildren: Pamela (Michael) Rule, Auburn, CA; Denise (Lane Whiteside) Lewis, Knoxville, TN; David (Gretchen) Minton, Andover, MN; Jason Bowker, Texas and Jared (Melissa) Bowker, Whitewater, WI and her 9 great grandchildren. Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Garth, her parents, a brother, Charles Mullens, a grandson, Thad Bowker and 2 sisters & brothers in law, Irma & Art Wendt and Evelyn & Walter Koch.
The Funeral Service will be on Friday, March 21 at 11 AM at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca with Reverend Jennifer DeNetz, officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Almond. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 10 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.
