Anton Anderson's Obituary
Anton G. (Tony) Anderson, age 98, of Amherst Jct., passed away on Thursday, November 10th, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Town of New Hope, Portage County on November 22, 1906, a son of the late Ben and Emma (Loberg) Anderson. Tony married Esther M. Slettene on December 9, 1936 in Nelsonville. She preceded him in death on September 28, 1993. He was a past Vice President and Director for New Hope Mutual Insurance Company for over 50 years. Tony was a member of Nelsonville Lutheran Church. Survivors include a Son: Richard (Sharon) Anderson, Amherst Jct., WI; a Daughter: Janet (Michael) Hughes, Plymouth, WI; 11 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren; a Brother: Herbert (Laurel) Anderson, Nelsonville, WI; Sister-in-law: Ruth Anderson, Waupaca, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife - Esther, two daughters - Betty Anderson and Joan Zarnke, 5 sisters - Gladys Hanna, Alma Borgen, Edna Thorn, Lillian Gunderson and Anna (died in infancy), also 3 brothers - Gerhard, Carl and Richard Anderson, and by one granddaughter - Amanda Soper. Funeral Services will be held at Nelsonville Lutheran Church in Nelsonville at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 12th, with Reverends Gretchen Anderson & Ken Michaelis officiating. Interment will be in the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 (Noon) until the time of service at the church. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Ministry Home Care/Hospice for their kind care and for making Tony's last days comfortable.
