Ardell Schei's Obituary
ARDELL O. SCHEI
WAUPACA, WISCONSIN Age 87 passed away on Monday, June 19, 2006 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born June 27, 1918 in the Town of Curran, Jackson Co.; son of Johan and Cora (Nelson) Schei. Ardell was drafted and entered the U.S. Army on April 7, 1941. He was attached as a medic to the 192nd Janesville National Guard Tank Battalion. After a brief training period he was shipped to the Philippine Islands. The Japanese invaded the Philippine Islands and he was captured April 8, 1942 and was involved in the Bataan Death March. After 34 months of captivity he was liberated by the U.S. Force’s on February 4, 1945. He was honorably discharged November 18, 1945 from Camp McCoy, WI. He received numerous medals and decorations for his service to our country. Ardell was a life member of the VFW Post 1037 of Waupaca, DAV life member of Minneapolis, member of the Central WI Chapter of Ex-POW’S, and also was treasurer of the condo association of Sun City, AZ and Clark Lake of Nisswa, MN. Ardell enjoyed watching and feeding birds, raising bonsai trees, and was active in the Senior Center of Waupaca. He was an Internal Revenue Service Agent for 25 years. Ardell was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Ardell is survived by:

Great-Great-Great Niece and Nephew: Aubree and Jaden He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leonard Schei, and a sister, Norma Edlund. Per Ardell’s request there will be no services. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. HOLLY FUNERAL HOME
