Arlan “Bennie” Anderson
Waupaca, WI Age 82 – died on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the New London Family Medical Center in New London, WI. He was born on October 28, 1926 in the Township of Waupaca, Waupaca County, WI, the son of James and Esther (Hoy) Anderson. He married Kathleen Kiekhafer on October 16, 1954 in Fremont, WI. Bennie is survived by his wife; Kathleen, son; Brian (Donna) Anderson of Waupaca, grandchildren; Adam and Erin Anderson of Naperville, IL, step-grandchildren; Ashley (Josh) Amundson of Iola, and Donnie Martel of Scandinavia, great granddaughter; Alayna Amundson, sisters; Crystal (Jack) Christoph of Waupaca, and Beulah Bestul of Iola, and mother-in-law; Marion Kiekhafer of Weyauwega. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by a son; Bruce Anderson, his parents, a brother and sister-in-law; Russell J. and Arlyn Anderson, and a brother-in-law; Russell Bestul. Bennie had been employed with the Waupaca County Highway Dept. for 24 years until a work injury forced his retirement. He had served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was honorably discharged in May of 1947. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Bennie loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and gardening. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 1:00 PM. Military Honors followed by interment will be held at Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca. A memorial visitation will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. A memorial has been established in the name of Arlan “Bennie” Anderson. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
