LIEBENTHAL, ARNOLD “ARNIE” L.
SAXEVILLE, WI (FORMERLY OF GREENFIELD, WI) Age 77 – found peace on July 31, 2007 after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. Loving, devoted husband of 55 years to Rose “Rosie” (Johannsen) Liebenthal. Loving father of JoAnne (Larry) Pullen of Racine, Richard Liebenthal of Milwaukee, Linda (Bill) Heinz of New Berlin, Marilyn (Bob) Crubaugh of Milwaukee, Darlene (Lee) Samplaski of Mequon, and Lorri (Mike) Kelly of Saxeville. Proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Further survived by a brother, William (Shirley) Liebenthal of Pewaukee, a sister, Marion Hoye of Milwaukee, a sister-in-law, Ann Liebenthal of Milwaukee, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Mable (Milarch) Liebenthal, two brothers, Donald and Fredrick Liebenthal, and two sisters, Inez Liebenthal and Joan Henninger. Arnie retired from American Motors Corporation in 1984, after 25 years of service. He was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. His passions were his family, sports, and fishing. He will be sorely missed for his wisdom, quiet disposition, and witty sense of humor. The family wishes to thank the caring staff of St. Agnes Hospice of Berlin, WI, especially Linda Meier, RN, Linda Pollesch, RN, Dr. Renee Murphy, Dr. Jeffrey Whiteside, Pastor Bob Hanson, Kathleen Koepke, and the late Sally Carpenter. Arnie’s five oldest children and their spouses would also like to thank their sister, Lorri, and her husband, Mike, for the more than 7 years of impeccable care she provided to Arnie, and continues to provide to Rose. A funeral service was held at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose, WI on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Noon, with Reverend Bob Hanson, St. John’s Lutheran Church – Saxeville, WI, officiating. A private graveside service and military rites were held on Monday, August 6, 2007 at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
