Arnold York
Almond, WI Age 78 – died peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at his home, with his family at his side. He was born on January 15, 1930 in Waushara County, the son of Guy and Lena (Droste) York. Arnold is survived by his daughters; Denise Gregory of Texas, Amy (Eric) Johnson and Rochelle York of Almond, grandsons; Logan Johnson and Adyn Keenlance of Almond, and a brother; Richard York of Wild Rose. He was preceded in death by his longtime companion; Linda Gregory, his parents; Guy and Lena York, and brothers; Arthur and Lyle York. Arnold had operated the Long Branch Saloon in Almond with his longtime companion; Linda Gregory, since 1983. She preceded him in death in 1998. He loved spending time with his two grandsons. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading books, and playing the ship, captain, crew dice game. He was also very good at doing masonry work. He was a dedicated father and grandfather who deeply loved his family. He was known for always putting the welfare of others before his own. He will be greatly missed. Arnold’s family extends a special “Thank You” to Jenny from Ministry Hospice in Stevens Point for the loving care she gave to Arnold. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, December 15, 2008 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Long Branch Saloon in Almond. The Hardell-Holly Funeral Home of Almond, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
