Arthur J. Ver Vooren's Obituary
Arthur J. Ver Vooren, age 71, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Veterans Home. Arthur was born in Waukesha, WI on February 16, 1940, the son of the late Ernest P. and Alma E. (Petterle) Ver Vooren. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Arthur is survived by his daughter: Kimberly R. Ver Vooren, Elgin, IL; his former wife: Rose Ver Vooren, Reeseville, WI; a step-son: Donald Athas, Merton, WI and his sister: Grace Ver Vooren, Brookfield, WI. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, John, Richard and Donald Ver Vooren and a sister Laura Howard. A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, May 12 at 11 AM at the Wisconsin Veterans Home-Olson Hall Chapel, King with Sister Cathy Wottreng, officiating. Military Graveside Services will follow in Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be on Thursday morning from 10:30 until the time of services at the Olson Hall Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Wisconsin Veterans Home, N2665 Co. Road QQ, King, WI.
