Barbara Clinton's Obituary
Barbara (Peg) Clinton, age 87, of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2009 surrounded by her family at St. Michael's Hospital. Peg was born in Crandon, WI on January 1, 1922, the daughter of the late Robert and Olive (Barker) Purdy Sr. On April 14, 1941, Peg married Gayle J. Clinton in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1979. Peg was a foster grandparent in the Amherst Schools for many years. She is a member of St. James Catholic Church. Peg is survived by her children: Gary Clinton, St. Augustine, FL; Kollin Clinton, Jacksonville, FL; Neil Clinton, Manawa, WI; Jacqueline (Mark) Price, Thorton, CO; Susan (James) Jankowski, Amherst, WI and Tami Onchwari, Fridley, MN; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a son in law: Mike Durrant, Plover, WI and a sister-in-law: Pam Purdy, Slinger, WI. She was also preceded in death by two brothers. A Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 10:30 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst with Father Robert Pedretti, officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the parish cemetery. A memorial visitation will be on Sat. morning from 9:30 AM until the time of mass at the church. Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
