Barbara C. Cousineau's Obituary
Barbara Claire Cousineau, 82, of Almond, WI passed away on Saturday, June 24, at her residence surrounded by family. Born to the late Charles and Evelyn (Riemersma) Smedley on April 4, 1935 at their home on 56th Ave in Hudsonville, Michigan. On November 7, 1953, Barb married Robert Joseph Cousineau at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church in Conklin, MI. She spent her life knitting, crocheting, reading romance novels, and watching NASCAR and hockey games. Her green thumb could be seen in her passion for gardening. Barb dedicated 22 years of her life working at Walmart. She was a member of St. Maximilian-Kolbe Catholic Church. Barb is survived by her husband: Robert Cousineau of Almond, her children: Renee (Joe) Louis of Stevens Point, Michael (Lee Ann) Cousineau of Waupun, Diane (Tom) Rice of Hancock, Joseph (Karen) Cousineau of Ogden, UT, Robert E. (Bev) Cousineau of Elroy; Dana Cousineau of Almond, and John (Nancy) Cousineau of Stevens Point. She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren and her brother: Gordon (Faye) Smedley of Hudsonville, MI and various cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven, her parents, brothers: Roger & Ken Smedley, and sisters: Lois Slater, Luella Hopp & Marcia Hollinshead.
The Memorial Service/Mass will be held on Friday, July 28 at 11 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 10 AM until the time of the mass at the church. Private Family burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Lanark. The Hardell-Holly Funeral Home in Almond will be assisting the family with arrangements.
