Barbara A. Sternik's Obituary
Barbara A. Sternik (Miller), 77, of Stevens Point passed away, Wednesday, March 13, 2019 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.
Barbara was born on October 22, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. She especially enjoyed traveling and always wanted to be packed in anyone’s suitcase. She was able to spread her bright spirit as a waitress at the Meadow Inn in Amherst for over 20 years and retired from her clerical position at H.O. Wolding. Barbara was a caring grandmother and great grandmother and had a special place in her heart for other nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces in the family.
Barbara was preceded in death by husband Stephen of 52 years. She is survived by three children: son Stephen Sternik (Tammy), daughter Theresa Sternik, and daughter Patricia Sternik Engelbert (Peter), four grandchildren: Alexandria Baudek, Brett Sternik, Matthew Sternik and Maksym Engelbert, and one great grandson: Lane Spires. Barbara was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and loved by everyone she encountered.
Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents Robert Miller (father) and Violet Miller (Probst) (mother), sister Katherine Davis (Joe) and Richard Miller (Pauline). She is survived by two sisters, Valerie Prescher (Richard) and Tina Rossi (Al).
The family would like to thank the Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice, Aspirus Home Health and Aspirus at Home for all the services and comfort care they had given to Barbara over the past several weeks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday March 19, 2019 at 11 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of the mass at 11 A.M. at the church.
