I will miss Barry greatly, we have kept in touch ever since serving together in Germany. I posted some pictures on Facebook when I brought him to Frankfurt to return home in 1975.

Hello Batten Family,
I'm Dyan Wied Freeman, Barry's cousin (and daughter of Bob Wied). My deep condolences to your family at this time. Unfortunately, I did not personally know Barry, as I've lived in Texas since 1981; but, he's a Wied, so I know he had to have been a kind, sweet, gentle soul with a great sense of humor (my dad was known for his sense of humor, sometimes also mischevious)! The first time I met Barry & Gerry (sp?) was when my parents owned Castle Rock Campground in Mauston, WI, probably around 1977 or 1978. You two were there, possible camping? I was only 16 and thought you both were so cool!
Please know myself and my family are thinking of you and praying for your comfort during this time.
