Recently I started searching online for old family friends and sadly, came across Barry's obituary. What a wonderful, talented man, husband, father, grandfather and friend he was! The obituary was beautifully written.
Barry (and Jane) were instrumental in my young life when Barry taught at the same high school as my father, and where at age 9, he cast me as Helen Keller in a high school play.
It was a sentinel experience in my development. Throughout those early years of my life, Barry and later Jane, were dear friends to our family though some years later my parents lost touch. Jerry and Kay O'Connor continued to talk of those wonderful times that we all cherished. Kay died in August 2004 from inflammatory breast cancer and Jerry died in February 2009 from colo-rectal cancer. Chris, Tim, Ann & Kitty continue to keep the family memories alive for each other and our families.
My belated deepest sorrow and sympathy on the passing of one incredible man, Barry.
