Age 75 – died unexpectedly on Monday, January 17, 2011. She was born on May 28, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Ripaj) Kovacek. She married Kenneth T. Cordier on August 27, 1964 in Kalamazoo, MI. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2004.
Bernadine is survived by her daughters; Pam (Blaine) Goerl of Darboy, Kelly (Kane) Gilbert of Phillips, and Paula (Ron) Calkins of Crestview, FL, her sons; Kevin (Monica) Cordier of Wausau, and Joseph (JoEllen) Fadness of Cudahy, grandchildren; Michael, Crystal, Tina, Brittany, Carissa, Kaylin, Brandon, Michael, Jennifer, Jeremy (Claire), Shannon, Adam, and Peyton, great grandchildren; Austin, Dylan, Alister, Evan, Kylie, Emma, Ashton, Jack, Callie, and Devlin, and her sister; Ann Froderman of Elm Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant child, her parents, and a sister; Paula Cigar.
Bernadine had been the apartment manager of the Alpine Haven apartment complex in Waupaca. She enjoyed spending time playing cards with her many friends in the apartment complex. She also enjoyed puzzles and caring for her plants. She loved her cat, Peanut, and was a strong supporter of the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
A visitation will held on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
