Bernard Dowling's Obituary
Bernard Thomas Dowling, age 66, of Waupaca, WI, passed away Friday, October 27, 2006 surrounded by his loving family at Appleton Medical Center. Bernie was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 16, 1940, the son of the late Jerome and Gertrude (Biebesheimer) Dowling. On April 20, 1963, Bernie married Anne Frieberg in Milwaukee. Bernie was a Police Officer for 33 years with the Milwaukee Police Dept. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca and currently the President of the Congregation. He is also a member of the Waupaca Curling Club, Friends of Hartmann Creek and Town of Farmington Comprehensive Planning Committee. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Bernie is survived by wife: Anne Dowling of Waupaca, his children: Pamela (Peter) Busalacchi of Shorewood, WI; Patrick (Jane) Dowling of Menomonee Falls, WI and Andrew (Melanie) Dowling of Duluth, MN; 7 Grandchildren: Ana, Collin, Brenden; Nicholas, Erin, Ronan & Meilan and 2 brothers: Jerry (Karen) Dowling of Hawaii and Ed (Penny) Dowling of South Milwaukee, WI. Funeral Service will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 1, with Reverends Dr. Charles Tews, Jennifer DeNetz, and Nathan Liedtke, officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bernie's name.
