Bernice Sobczak's Obituary
BERNICE ALMA MARIE (STRACK) SOBCZAK Age, 86, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at Berlin Memorial Hospital in Berlin, Wis. She was born Nov. 20, 1920, in the Town of Arpin, Wood County, Wis., the daughter of Alvin and Amelia(Dhein) Strack. On July 4, 1940, she married Raymond Sigmund Sobczak in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1994. Bernice is survived by three sons and their wives:

Michael (TJ Cooper) Sobczak of Corpus Christi, Texas
Elizabeth Sobczak of South Milwaukee, Wis.
Jacob Sobczak of South Milwaukee, Wis.
Chris Sobczak of South Milwaukee, Wis. five great-grandchildren:
Connor, Caitlyn, Christina, Justin Sobczak and Weston Cooper One sister: Muriel (Raymond) Schwartz of Titusville, Fla. seven sisters-in-law: Mary Strack, Vernell Sobczak, LuAnn Sobczak, Virginia Reed, Dorothy Armato, Sylvia Roedel and Irene Sternik. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bernice retired in 1986 from the Milwaukee County Government, working as an administrative assistant for the Corporation Counsel in the Milwaukee County Courthouse. She previously worked in the pathology laboratory in the Milwaukee County Medical Complex, as well as for Kroger Food stores in Milwaukee County. She was a former member of Oak Creek United Methodist Church near Milwaukee as well as an active member of Wild Rose United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women (former president) and Administrative Council. She was also an active member of the Springrose Homemakers Club (secretary/treasurer), the Wild Rose Historical Society (guide and former secretary), Wild Rose Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Friends of the Wild Rose Library and the Royal Neighbors of America. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Sobczak; one grandson, Kevin Sobczak; three brothers, Clarence, Marvin and Orville Strack; and two sisters, Esther Stockmann and Irene Wendel. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Wild Rose United Methodist Church, 225 Summit Ave., Wild Rose, Wis., with the Rev. Yul Kwon officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Wild Rose United Methodist Church.
