BERNICE A. WERTH
NEW LONDON, WI (FORMERLY OF NEENAH) Age: 82 – died on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Residence in New London, WI. She was born on May 2, 1922 in Fond du Lac, WI, a daughter of the late Louis and Agnes (Krug) Suttner. She married Hugo Werth on August 4, 1951 in Antigo, WI. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1993. Bernice is survived by three sisters: Marilyn (Anthony) Bohman of Hortonville, Geraldine Wegner of Fond du Lac, and Hilda Tillman of Appleton, nephews: Art Wegner of Sheboygan Falls, David DeWitt of Florida, Joseph Bohman of New London, and Mark Werth of Appleton, nieces: Carrie Bohman of Appleton, Amy Bohman of Dallas, TX, and Susan Kuhn of Appleton, and a special friend: Brian (Carol) Dolan and their children of California. She was preceded in death by her husband: Hugo, an infant son: Danny, her parents, her in-laws: Herman and Otillie Werth, brothers-in-law: Arnold Werth and Dick Tillman, and sisters-in-law: Leona Hansen and Esther Werth. Bernice had been employed with the American Can Co. in Neenah for 32 years. She had also worked at the J.C. Penney Co. and the Zwicker Knitting Mills. She was a member of the St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah for over 50 years. She had served the church as a money counter and a sacristan. She had also sung in the funeral choir. She had also done volunteer work at Theda Clark Hospital. Bernice loved to travel. She enjoyed music and dancing. She also enjoyed doing needle work and had made many beautiful cross stitch patterns. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, March 7, 2005 at the St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah, with Father Richard L. Allen, Celebrant. Interment will be in the Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI. Friends may call at the church in Neenah on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the mass. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements. The family extends a special Thank You to St. Joseph’s Residence in New London for the wonderful care given to Bernice while she was a resident there.
