Bernie Beekman's Obituary
Bernard M. (Bernie) Beekman, age 80, of Waupaca, passed away on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. He was born in Estelline, SD on October 21, 1932, a son of the late Albertus and Julia (Nystrom) Beekman. He married Janice R. Wilson on June 22, 1957 in Beloit. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Bernie had worked at Waupaca Foundry for over 20 years. After retiring from the Foundry, he worked at Sears and U.S. Cellular in Waupaca. He was an avid fan of all sports and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bernie loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his Wife: Jan Beekman, Waupaca, WI; Children: Debra (Bill) Sotka, Waupaca, WI; Daven (Jackie) Beekman, Waupaca, WI; Dawn (Brad) Rosicky, Waupaca, WI; Derek Beekman, Waupaca, WI; Dena (Jim) Davidson, Waupaca, WI; Grandchildren: Athena, Jed & Tatiana Sotka; Ryan Sudmeier; Elaina Beekman; Aaron, Alisha & Alex Rowland; Hunter Beekman; Taylor & Macie Davidson; Allie Caldiero; Brother: Marty (Shirley) Beekman, Eau Claire, WI; Sister: Darla (Jim) Gullerud, Eau Claire, WI; Brother-in-law: Ron (Kathy) Wilson, Elcho, WI. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Davidson. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 8th, 2013 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Waupaca, with the Rev. H. William Jordan, offciating. Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4 until 8 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca.
