Beverly Christman's Obituary
BEVERLY M. CHRISTMAN of Almond passed away on Thurs. October 20, 2005 as a result of a car accident. Beverly was born on May 17, 1924 in the Town of Almond, Portage Co. the daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia (Mehne) Christman. After graduating from Almond High School, Beverly went to Oshkosh Business College. She then went to work at Hardware Mutual / Sentry Insurance Co. She first worked in Chicago for the company and then transferred back to Stevens Point retiring in 1991. Beverly was a member of Almond United Methodist Church, Homemakers Group, the Audubon Society, the Historical Society and the Golden Glow of Christmas Past. Beverly was an artist, woodcarver and took great pride in her home and yard. She also had a passion for collecting and restoring antiques. She is survived by her niece, Mary Jo (Jay) Reed of Jupiter, FL, her great nephew and niece, Christopher (fiancée, Suni Meyer) Tequesta, FL and Jolene (Paul) Hansen of Port Saint Lucie, FL. Also surviving are great great nephew and niece, Paul Hansen Jr. and Hailey Reed and her cousins, Donald Christman of Wisconsin Rapids and Harold Christman of Minocqoa and Beverly's very special friend Shirley Turzenski of Plover. Beverly was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Christman and Lilah Rood and a nephew, Harlow Smith Rood III. Funeral services will be on Friday, Oct. 28 at 11 AM at Almond United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Fite, officiating. Burial will be in the East German Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thurs. eve. From 4 to 7 PM at Hardell-Holly Funeral Home in Almond. A memorial fund has been established in Beverly's name. Hardell-Holly Funeral Home in Almond is assisting the family with arrangements.
