Blaine Olsen's Obituary
On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, Blaine Olsen, a beloved, unique, special man, unexpectedly went to Heaven to be with Jesus his Savior and with others who have gone before.
Blaine, living with his foster family, called Amherst his home for the past 15 years and touched many lives. Although he could not speak, he impacted people with his smile, laughter and gentle unassuming spirit. At times, he would point his pointer finger Heavenward as if saying, “All is good!”
Blaine enjoyed being with his friends at Cahoots Day Program and they enriched his life. He also enjoyed Bible Studies, family and neighborhood gatherings, campfires, car rides, wheelchair walks, smoothies, music, Woofie (his stuffed animal), sunshine and so much more. He attended basketball and baseball games, track and cross country meets, movies and plays.
Blaine will be deeply missed by the many who loved and cherished him. The Bible promises that “The Lord is close to those who mourn.” We know this is true.
A celebration of Blaine’s life will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Jensen Community Center, 487 North Main Street, Amherst, WI. Visitation begins at 1:00 PM, Memorial Service at 2:00 PM with lunch following.
A memorial park bench honoring Blaine is planned. All monetary gifts given in Blaine’s memory will be used for this purpose. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
