Brig Konecke's Obituary
Brig Konecke, age 69, of Waupaca, Wisconsin , passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 28th, 2007 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 29, 1938, the son of the late John Stanley and Elizabeth Sophia (Brueggemann) Konecke. He married Susan Peterson on July 7, 1962, at Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church in Chaseburg, Wisconsin. Brig graduated from LaCrosse State College with a degree in Biology. He taught at the College, Westby, Waupaca and Potosi from which he retired in 2000. Brig was a member of Scandinavia Lutheran Church. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America - Bay Lakes Council, Mid-Wisconsin Chippers and a local Old Car Club. Brig enjoyed woodcarving, woodworking and furniture restoration. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Brig (Jessica) Konecke Jr., Seattle, Washington; Andreen (Mark) Kjentvet, Wild Rose, Wisconsin; Grandchildren: Alayna and Garrik Kjentvet; Kai Konecke; Sister: Marylou Mitchell, Pensacola, Florida; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law: Stuart (Bonnie) Peterson, Chaseburg, Wisconsin; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law: Sidney (Kathryn) Foster, Dawsonville, Georgia; Sister-in-law: Edith Peterson, Chaseburg, Wisconsin. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Stanley and Bernetta Peterson and a brother-in-law: Stanley Peterson.
Funeral Service will be held at Scandinavia Lutheran Church, Scandinavia, Wisconsin, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 1, 2007, with Reverends Mark E. Sabin and Eugene Gauerke officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, August 31, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and again on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
