Brooke was a world traveler before she could tie her shoes, growing up in Australia, Beirut, Hong Kong, Toronto and Chicago. After college at Michigan Technological University, she continued her travels as a geological engineer, working in Roswell NM, Houston TX, Egypt, India and Washington, DC.
Always the foodie, Brooke turned in her engineering hard hat to pursue a culinary career, as part owner of a catering company. Additionally, for want of tapping back into her left-brain skills, Brooke was accepted at Southern Methodist University in 2019 and began a master's degree in Computer Engineering and Data Science.
Throughout her careers and travels, her heart was always rooted in Waupaca, where she spent every summer alongside her extended family. Her grandparents ,Phyllis & Francis Werner (deceased), created their family gathering spot on the Chain O' Lakes in 1950, and all of Brooke's Werner relatives (50 and counting) continue to gather there today. Brooke was all about family.
In 2017, she met the love of her life, William. The two were married in July 2019 and they lived a fairytale love story, even throughout her battle with Metastatic Melanoma cancer.
