CARL L. GOODACRE
Tucson, AZ (Formerly of Waupaca, WI) Carl Leander Goodacre, age 82, formerly of Waupaca, WI, went to meet his Heavenly Father on July 16, 2007 at his home in Tucson, AZ, after battling a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Faith Goodacre, one son: Gerald Goodacre, five brothers, and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marian Goodacre, a son: Rodney A. (Naomi) Goodacre of Midlothian, VA, a grandson: Wesley (Heather) Goodacre of Black Creek, WI, and two great grandchildren: Zachary and Gail Goodacre. He is also survived by four step-children, whom he loved and cared for as his own, Joanne (Art) Thompson of Tucson, AZ, Harlen (Ada) Mork of Rudolph, WI, Eddie (Rose) Mork of Ferndale, WA, and Dennis (Shirley) Mork of Tucson, AZ, 22 step-grandchildren, 32 step-great grandchildren, 7 step-great great grandchildren, four brothers, and two sisters. Carl was born on August 18, 1924 in Fairchild, WI. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and fought in the South Pacific during WW II. He earned many awards and medals for his service. He was also a member of the VFW Post #1037 – Waupaca, WI. He married Marian Harris on July 17, 1946 in Chicago, IL. In 1994 Carl started in his home what is now known as Fellowship Baptist Church, which is currently located on County Trunk E in Waupaca, WI. He was also a deacon and member of the congregation. Carl was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and was dearly loved by all who knew him. His faithful Christian witness and cheerful ways touched many lives. Far greater are his eternal rewards than all he received on earth. We know he is rejoicing in Heaven, beholding his Savior, and we look forward to the day we can join him! A funeral service will be held at the Fellowship Baptist Church, N3548 County Trunk E, Waupaca, WI on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Rick Anderson, officiating. Interment and Military Rites will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI. Friends may call at the Fellowship Baptist Church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
