CARL FREDRICK MAVES
AMHERST, WISCONSIN, Age 91, passed way Friday, November 6, 2015 at Bethany Homes, Waupaca, WI. Carl was born October 30, 1924 in the Township of Lanark, WI; son of the late Otto and Wilhelmina (Lutz) Maves. Carl married Elaine Swenson on May 27, 1950. They were married for 58 years. Carl lived on the family farm in the Lanark Township for 65 years. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, farming, gardening, raising chickens, deer hunting, riding his 4-wheeler, and delivering produce from his fruit trees and garden to the neighbors. In his early years, Carl worked as an electrician and at the Amherst Junction Feed Mill, as well as farmed. Carl served on the Peace Lutheran Church council, the Town of Lanark Board as a Supervisor, and as a Fire Warden for many years.
Carl is survived by 4 Sons:
Fred (fiancée Tina Smith), Tom (Denise), Dan (friend Barb), Jon (Leah) all of Amherst
8 Grandchildren:
Adam (Jenny) of Amherst, Tara (Jeremy) Strand of Mayville, ND, Ramanda, Ellen, Jeremy, Steve, Karlee, and Makena Maves all of Amherst
4 Great-Granddaughters:
Talin and Tatum Maves of Amherst and Parker and Paetyn Strand of Mayville, ND
Honorary Grandson:
Brent Parker of Waupaca, WI
Special Family Friends:
Nancy and Jim Jensen, Hazlehurst, WI and their children and grandchild

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Edna Maves, Otto and Henrietta Maves, and sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Harold Alm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:00am at the Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst, WI. Reverend Dwight Anderson will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00-11:00am at the church. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in the Town of Amherst following the service on Saturday.
