CARLYLE “CARLY” J. OLSON
AMHERST, WISCONSIN
FORMERLY OF IOLA, WISCONSIN Age 80 passed on to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 13, 2008 surrounded by his loving family at Iola Living Assistance in Iola, WI. He was born March 30, 1927 in the Town of Plover, Portage Co., WI; son of Darroll and Evelyn (Smith) Olson. Carly’s first marriage was to Gertrude Behm on February 12, 1949. She preceded him in death on November 23, 1981. On November 10, 1984, Carly married Virginia Molaska at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst, WI. He served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant from 1945 – 1947. Carly worked at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King as a baker from 1968 until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Amherst, WI. Carly is survived by:

Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Gertrude Olson, and a daughter-in-law, Maureen Olson. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church of Amherst. Father Ted Lewandowski will preside. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, Jan. 17, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, WI and also one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca following the services on Friday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the St. James Catholic Church Building Fund, 453 S.
