Carol J. Ryczek's Obituary
Carol J. Ryczek, age 66, of Amherst, WI passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Ascension Saint Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point. Carol was born in Great Lakes, IL on January 22, 1951, the daughter of Arthur and Shirley (Olsen) Schaar. She married Thomas Peterson in 1969 and in 1973 they welcomed their son Ryan. Thomas preceded her in death in 1979. On June 8, 1985, Carol married Albert "Bud" Ryczek in Libertyville, IL and in 1987 the family moved to Amherst. Carol worked for many years as a recruiter at H.O. Wolding, Co. Carol was a caregiver to many and often would put other people's needs before taking the time for herself. She will be best known for her big laugh and big heart. Carol is survived by her husband: Albert "Bud" Ryczek, Amherst; her son: Ryan (Marcy) Peterson, Amherst; her mother: Shirley Gormley, Stevens Point; her sister: Sandy (Con) Deering, Vernon Hills, IL and her step-sister: Tammy (Sam) Cavaretta, Carbondale, IL. She was preceded in death by her father, her beloved step-father, Phil Gormley and her 1st husband, Thomas. Memorial Services will be on Saturday, January 20 at 11:30 AM at Nelsonville Ev. Lutheran Church with Reverend Dwight Anderson, officiating. Burial will be later in the spring at Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial visitation will be on Saturday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of services at the church.
