Caroline R. Maves' Obituary
Caroline Rose Maves, age 90, of Amherst, WI, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, WI. She was born October 25, 1924 in the Town of Stockton, Portage Co., WI; daughter of George and Caroline (Lutz) Hoffman.
Caroline married Erwin Maves on May 1, 1948 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amherst. She worked hand in hand with her husband on the farm. Caroline was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint work, reading, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Caroline is survived by her husband, Erwin Maves of Amherst, WI; their two daughters, Nancy (Maynard) Thoe of Waupaca, WI and Alice (Godwin) Voss of Weyauwega, WI; three grandchildren, Jason Thoe of Amherst, WI, Jeremy Thoe of Santa Barbara, CA, and Cindy Voss (Scott Richmond) of Baltimore, MD; and two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Brooklyn Thoe of Amherst, WI.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a beloved grandson, Kevin Voss; two brothers, Clarence and George Jr.; and two sisters, Evelyn Walters Kluball and Mabel Gustafson.
The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Waupaca where she was a member. Pastor Paul Bowe will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church. Burial will take place at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca following the service on Saturday. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with the arrangements.
