Carolyn A. Gessler's Obituary
Carolyn A. Gessler, age 90, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, formally of Tomahawk, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Veterans Home. Carolyn was born in Sacramento, CA on March 23, 1925 the daughter of the late David and Louisa (Reece) Franco. On August 28, 1943, Carolyn married Willis Gessler in Reno, NV and he preceded her in death on September 25, 2010. She and her husband owned & operated Gessler Upholstery Shop for many years. She was an EMT with the Tomahawk Fire Dept., on the Board of the Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation, organized the Red Cross Blood drive for many years and received the Jaycees Community Leadership Award. Carolyn is survived by her children: Buddy (Debbie) Gessler, Tomahawk, WI and Nancy (Michael) Specht, Irma, WI; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, August 5 at 11 AM at the Wisconsin Veterans Home-Ainsworth Hall Chapel, King with Chaplain Rich Engle, officiating. Burial will follow in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King. Visitation will be on Wednesday morning from 10 AM until the time of services at the chapel. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
