DePere, WI Age 53 – died unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, February 22, 2008. She was born on June 10, 1954 in Neenah, WI, a daughter of Richard and Joyce (Lesselyong) Cate. Cathy is survived by her mother; Joyce Cate of Waupaca, three sisters; Connie (Michael) Worzala of Green Bay, Christine Popp of Appleton, and Claire (William) Cate Reid of Hamilton, TX, and a brother; Richard Cate of Menasha. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. Cathy had served as a Military Police Woman in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning, GA. She had been employed by the State of Wisconsin for 20 years, retiring in 2007. She retired as a Lieutenant at the Green Bay Correctional Institute. It was Cathy’s wish that no service be held. Interment will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI. Because of her love for animals, memorials can be directed to the Bay Area Humane Society and Animal Shelter, INC, 1830 Radisson St., Green Bay, WI 54302, in memory of Catherine Cate. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
