Catherine Searles Hanson's Obituary
Catherine Searles Hanson
Heaven’s door opened for Catherine Searles Hanson on Monday, August 13, 2012. Catherine was born to Irvin and Mayme Searles of Lodi, Wis., in 1919, and she received her second birthday at age 13. After High School Catherine attended college in Minneapolis, and returned home to take employment at the local creamery. Prompted by a failing economy, she then joined the Castle-Doyle firm in Madison. However, life now offered a very different change – a new job, a different profession and even a name change when she married Pastor O.J. Hanson. For many years the Hansons ministered together in gospel work. With this new change Catherine acquired four children, nine grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren who survived her, including her sister, Ellen. Living over 93 years, Catherine has now joined many friends and loved ones who are singing in Heaven’s choir. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD in Waupaca, with Rev. Robert Bohn officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m. until the service. The committal service for family and friends will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at MT. PLEASANT CEMETERY in Lodi. In lieu of flowers a memorial scholarship fund is being established in Catherine's name. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
