Celestine "Sally" Benz's Obituary
Celestine (Sally) Benz, born to Louie and Anna Huber on February 5th, 1936 in Linton, North Dakota passed away peacefully with her loving family on March 11, 2019 at age 83 at Patriot Place in Berlin, WI.
For the last three decades Sally called Poy Sippi, WI home. As former proprietor and bartender of the Last Sippi Bar (August 1989-December 2008). She made many acquaintances and lifelong friendships. Sally was always willing to help the community. Many people who new, always spoke about the smile on her face, her willingness to help anyone she could, the twinkle in her eyes and a song in her heart. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all.
Loving wife of (Harold) preceded her in death July 21, 1980. Beloved Mother of Sandra (Gayle), Patricia, Glenn, Paula (Kevin), and Irene (Don). Cherished grandma of Tanya (Chris), Eric (Jaclyn), Bradley, Lauren, Katie, Brandon, Brooke and great grandma of Reece. Dear sister to Christine, Irene, Al (Eileen), and the late Jack, Joe, Pete, Mike, Clement, George, and Marian. Preceded in death by her parents Louie and Anna. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A Memorial gathering will be held at Emmaus Ev. Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in Poy Sippi, WI on Saturday March 23, 2019 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM. Reverend Mark Meier, Sr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude’s, Lung Cancer Research Foundation or Cancer Research Institute are greatly appreciated. Sally’s family would like to thank the caring staff at Patriot Place and the compassionate hospice team from Heartland – all of whom provided wonderful care for Sally and showed such kindness to her family.
We look forward to seeing Celestine with Christ in the resurrection with Jesus Christ.
