Chester (Chet) Nichols' Obituary
Mr. Chester L. (Chet) Nichols, age 95, of Waupaca, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, January 23rd, 2009 at Lakeview Manor in Weyauwega . Mr. Nichols was born in Vandalia, Illinois on March 18, 1913, he was the son of the late Fredrick J. and Clara Belle (Rowland) Nichols. On February of 1968, he married Lorraine R. Hollenbeck in Medford, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on October 19, 1997. Chet operated the Third Ward Bowling Alley in Waupaca many years ago. He also owned a sporting goods shop in Waupaca and retired from Waupaca Brick Sales as a salesman. Chet was an avid fisherman, making fishing lures and jigs. He always enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee at the Waupaca Truck Stop. He is survived by Grandchildren: Vicki Sorenson, Byron Center, MI; Holly Nichols, Comstock Park, MI; Scott VanderMolen, North Las Vegas, Nevada; 3 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Son in law: Milt Halverson, Grand Rapids, MI. Step Daughter: Ann (Ed) Brecke, Stetsonville, WI. , Step Grandchildren: Ed Brecke, Medford; Holly (Mike) Feddick, Stetsonville; Brenda (Scott) Sommer, Stensonville; 8-Step Great Grandchildren and 1 Step Great Great Grandchildren. Chet was preceded in death by his Wife: Lorraine and Daughter: Rene Halverson and two nieces: Ruby and Margaret. Memorial Service will be held at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 19th, with Reverend Ray Villaloves officiating. Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday February 19th, from 11-1 P.M. at the funeral home. A.J. Holly & Sons LTD
