Chester L. Ernst's Obituary
Chester Louie Ernst, age 78 passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 16th, 2019 at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah. He was born on April 12, 1940 in Waupaca County son of the late Louie and Emma (Polzin) Ernst. He married Delores Vaughn in 1959 at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church in Iola. They were married for 59 years. He was employed at Waupaca Foundry for 42 years and enjoyed 17 years as an Auctioneer on the weekends. He loved playing sheepshead every week with his friends and special neighbors and golfed three times a week. He enjoyed many vacations in Eagle River with his family and fishing. Chester loved country music, playing guitar, piano, and accordion. He also enjoyed woodworking and he wasn’t a half bad cook either!
Chester is survived by his loving wife, Delores; son, Jeff Ernst; son, Jon (Maria) Ernst; daughter, Julie (John) Nygaard; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Inderdahl and Pat Ernst; sister-in-law, Charlotte Vaughn; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Emma Ernst; Father and Mother-in-law, Aber and Mildred Vaughn; baby sister, June; brother-in-law, Roger Mckellips, Sam Inderdahl, and Donald Vaughn; and a great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 23rd at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Pastor Dione Miller will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday, February 22nd at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and again from 9:30 AM until time of service at the church on Saturday.
