Chester Konkol's Obituary
CHESTER “GOVERNOR” B. KONKOL
AMHERST, WISCONSIN Age 91 passed away on Friday, August 10, 2007 at the Stevens Point Care Center in Stevens Point, WI. He was born September 22, 1915 in the Town of Stockton, Portage Co., WI; son of John and Mary (Yach) Konkol. On October 19, 1940, Chester married Evelyn F. Kubisiak at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church – Fancher. Chet was a master plumber for about 55 years where he owned and operated his own business from his home. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and also was known for his venison sausage. Chester is survived by:
Wife: Evelyn Konkol of Stevens Point, WI
Brother: Leonard “Champ” Konkol of Stevens Point, WI
Loyal Companion: Oprah, his black lab
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Henry, Barney, Clements, Stephen, Casimir, Edwin, Walter, Dennis, and Ernest Konkol, an infant brother, and one sister, Phyllis Kriese. A Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church – Fancher. Father Robert Pedretti will preside. A visitation will be held on Monday evening, Aug. 13, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst with a Rosary Service to be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Stockton following the services on Tuesday. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements. JUNGERS-HOLLY FUNERAL HOME
