Clara Belle Marks' Obituary
Clara Belle Marks passed away October 18th, 2011, at the Northpoint Rehabilitation Center in Oshkosh. Clara Belle was born on March 13, 1920 in a little house between Spring Lake and Lohrville in the town of Marion. She was born a feisty little red head and maintained that image all of her life. She had a great sense of humor, loved animals, especially cats; loved any kind of music, country was a favorite, and was always ready for a good time. Nothing pleased her more than a good card game followed by tea and a luscious fattening dessert. CB was capable of doing almost anything and started out by marrying Harley and raising two daughters, Mary Ellen and Beverly, (Becky). She helped work the family farm until she and Harley bought the Spring Lake grocery store known as HARLEY’S TRADING POST. After selling the store she became secretary for Riverview Elementary School in Wautoma until her retirement. Then, deciding that retirement wasn’t for her, she began working for the Waushara Argus. In between all of these jobs, CB helped her husband with his auctioneering business. She was lucky enough to stay in her own home in Spring Lake with the help of her daughters until three weeks before her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley; her mother, Helen (Nell) Cutts, her father, George Cutts, her brother, James, a niece, Becky Jo, a nephew, James Jr., and her step father, Kenneth Sundeen. She is survived by her daughters Mary Tuschl and son-in-law Tom Tuschl, her daughter Beverly (Becky) Marks, Bill Griegel and her extended family James and Lisa Gaser and children, a sister, Jeanne Luce and brother-in-law, Bob Luce, their sons, Bob, (Nancy) Greg, (Kasia) and Mike (Jennifer) and daughters. She has two bonus grandchildren, Teresa Tuschl, Anita Behm, (Jon) and their family, a sister in law, Alvina Cutts and her family.
Visitation will be at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose, located ¼ mile East of the intersection of highway 22 and H, in Wild Rose starting at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 25, followed by a CELEBRATION OF LIFE at 12 Noon. Internment will be in the Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Neshkoro. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be given in CB’s name to various animal protection shelters.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to the Friday Ladies Card Club, her many friends who stopped by just to say ‘hi’, the very special care given to her by the staff at the Northpoint Rehabilitation Center of Oshkosh, and Generations Hospice for their kindness and help to us all.
